College Intern-Federal Affairs
SRP, the nation's third-largest public power and water utility is seeking a student intern for its Federal Affairs Internship program at its Washington, D.C. office. The Washington, D. C. office represents SRP at the federal level and advocates on a wide array of issues important to SRP and its customers and shareholders.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct open source research
- Monitor media stories
- Produce written summaries and reports
- Assist with event planning and support
- Assist with administrative support and other office duties
Desired Qualifications & Skills
- Interest in learning about energy and water-related issues and their corresponding policy challenges and solutions
- Highly motivated and results oriented with a desire to exceed expectations
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Attention to detail and quick learner
- Ability to work independently in an office setting
- Familiarity with MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Photoshop training is a plus.
Additional Information
- Must be enrolled in junior year in college or above (graduate studies preferred)
- SRP requires its college interns to be enrolled in a minimum of six hours per semester
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
- Schedule: 32 hours/4 days a week, Monday through Thursday. Fridays are optional depending on the Congressional schedule.
