Donor Communications and Stewardship GLOBE Intern

YOUR INTERNSHIP WITH TNC The Nature Conservancy’s GLOBE (Growing Leaders on Behalf of the Environment) summer internship program hires undergraduate students, graduate students, or recent college graduates (2017, 2018, and 2019) to fill paid internship positions during a 10-week summer internship. These positions are available throughout the United States and provide a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between academics and realworld conservation work. The program recruits individuals from a variety of backgrounds and experiences who are interested in contributing to our conservation goals in various fields. We offer a structured orientation, professional training, network opportunities, mentoring program, and real work experience.  
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The Donor Communications and Stewardship GLOBE intern will support fundraising efforts toward TNC's Shared Conservation Agenda by working alongside donor communications, donor stewardship and conservation staff to gather content for the creation of polished donor deliverables. This may include photobooks, PowerPoints, stewardship reports or donor websites. The intern will help our team manage an ever-increasing workload and advance our global fundraising initiatives. They will be able to take the lead on several projects described above and allow other team members to take on more of a project sponsor role. 
 
After completing the internship, the intern will have a thorough understanding of a global nonprofit and its organizational structure and will have applied principles of internal communications across a large enterprise. In addition, the intern will see the workings of a major and principal gift fundraising program from the perspective of three different teams within the Worldwide Office Development Division. Lastly, the intern will leave with a suite of materials that can be used as samples of their work during their time at TNC which will showcase design, writing and publishing skills. 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE • Work with the Donor Communications and Stewardship Team and conservation staff across the world to gather imagery and conservation information for high level donor projects. • Support fundraising efforts toward TNC’s Shared Conservation Agenda • Advance global fundraising initiatives 
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • HS Diploma or equivalent. Enrolled in an undergraduate program, graduate program, or a recent graduate (2017, 2018, or 2019) of Communication, Conservation, Environmental Studies, English, Marketing, Fundraising, Non-Profit Management, Organizational Sciences or related field, or equivalent • Experience researching, writing, and editing • Experience with written and oral communications  
  
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel • Organized and able to manage many moving parts of a project simultaneously • Interest in conservation and the work of The Nature Conservancy 
 
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Experience with InDesign, Microsoft SharePoint and/ or Publisher 
 
ADDITIONAL JOB INFORMATION • This is a full-time, temporary internship position with a 10-week term of June 3 – August 9, 2019.  
 
SALARY INFORMATION $12.50/per hour (undergrads) and $14.50/per hour (graduate and recently graduated level students)
