Content Creation Spring Intern

Internship Description:

Your role, broadly speaking, will be to solve problems and push solar energy and SEIA’s strategic vision forward. Specifically, you will be responsible for the integration of policy development, research, external communications, membership development opportunities, and other strategic initiatives in a variety of SEIA programs and events across the nation.
If you get excited about transforming our energy supply and delivery system such that solar electric and thermal technologies, in collaboration with other clean, reliable, affordable renewable resources and storage, fuel this country’s economy, and ensuring that all the details necessary to make that happen are covered, then this is the role for you.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Daily activities will include creating, delivering, and continuously improving our industry leading education programs for all Solar Power Events in North America, including Solar Power International, a top industry trade show that attracts 20,000 attendees each September.
  • Sometimes, that means solar industry and energy policy research
  • Other times, that means working with the staff to support content development committees; outlining session topics; facilitating the creation of session descriptions
  • Often times, that means working with staff to gain expertise in state markets, maintaining knowledge of industry trends, and providing support to policy and content creation efforts

Requirements:

  • Superior Written, Oral, and Presentation Skills - You're happy to work the phones, fire off a bunch of emails, or shake some hands. You should be friendly, empathetic, a good listener, and invigorated by developing and maintaining relationships.
  • You have a Team Ethos - You thrive in a creative, inventive, fast-paced environment, with people who are passionate about their work and mission. You’re not just excited to work cross-functionally, you demand it.
  • You’re Flexible, a Quick Responder - The tasks our organization is facing is dynamic and each day brings fresh and exciting challenges. You can react quickly and efficiently when called upon to change or pivot and are organized with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments
  • Experience with Salesforce and MS Outlook preferred
This position is 20-30 hours/week. All majors are encouraged to apply.
