Spring Meadow Nursery is seeking a creative, results-driven SEO specialist to create and optimize content on our growing portfolio of websites. This position will work with our web designer and horticulture content creators to develop articles, descriptions, growing guides, and more that help our brands to rise to the top of SERPs for both consumers and trade. Due to the collaborative nature of this position, remote work is not possible.
 
Broad Functions:
Create new and optimize existing content on our websites, including but not limited to product descriptions, articles, web pages, and social media, for Proven Winners ColorChoice Shrubs, Spring Meadow Nursery, and GreatGardenPlants.com. Conduct keyword research and implement into new and existing content. Work with content creators and web designer to create digital assets and develop strategies, techniques, and best practices to increase SEO, quality of user experience, and to maximize brand and product awareness, and sales. Work alongside the digital marketing specialist to place and monitor ads online and in social media. Expected ratio of SEO to PPC is 70/30.
 
Primary responsibilities:
1) Create and optimize website content for high performance in organic (primary goal) and paid (secondary goal) search for our B2B and B2C audiences:
a) Spring Meadow Nursery (B2B)
b) Proven Winners ColorChoice (B2B & B2C)
c) Great Garden Plants and other D2C websites
2) Develop strategies to increase the effectiveness and/or profitability of all online content: 
             a) Keyword research and implementation
             b) Schema markup
             c) Link building
             d) Website content and organization/structure
             e) Maintain and analyze sales data and campaign performance, then recommend adjustments to strategy and tactics
f) Allocation of budgets of each digital campaign to make certain the money is effectively spent and within limits set.
 
3) Work with content creation team to optimize new and existing content.
4) Regularly conduct a competitor analysis for both B2B and B2C websites to help improve SEO.
5) Stay current on SEO best practices and develop and implement strategies to continually increase the SEO of all websites.
6) Generate reports and analyze data to improve website and advertising performance.
7) Work with the Digital Marketing Specialist to place and monitor digital ads for search, shopping, and social media (30% of time).
8) Plan / schedule / evaluate / follow-up work progress and prioritize work activities.
9) Responsible for written documentation of all related policies and procedures.
10) Perform special projects, as assigned.
11) Assist the Marketing Manager as requested.
 
Additional Responsibilities:
1) Performs other related duties as required.
2) Follow Spring Meadow Nursery Safety Policy.
 
Qualifications:
Education/ Experience: two to four years of increasing relevant experience in writing for and optimizing SEO. Working knowledge of technical and content-based SEO practices. E-commerce experience is highly desirable, as is familiarity with writing, placing, and monitoring digital ads. Ability to work well both collaboratively and individually. Organizational, computer, and written and verbal communications skills imperative. Experience with Wordpress, Shopify, and Hubspot a plus, as is an interest in plants and gardening.
